Régis Gosselin, B.A., MBA, CGA, Chair
Appointed April 2012

Former Director of Corporate Services for the Canadian Grain Commission, this member has worked for the Fédération des Caisses Populaires and also Entreprise Saint-Boniface, a community economic development organization. He is a past Chair of the Société d'assurances dépôts des caisses populaires du Manitoba, Caisse populaire de Saint-Boniface and Centre Youville.


Karen Botting, B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed., Vice-Chair
Appointed July 2012

Former Director of Student Services for the Louis Riel School Division, this member also worked as a school principal in River East School Division; held positions as President of the Student Services Administrators of Manitoba and President of the River East Principals' Association. Former vice-chair of the Board of Directors of the Manitoba Lotteries Corporation on which she served 12 years. She has also served on many community boards including: United Nations Association of Winnipeg, UNICEF, as president of Woodsworth House Historical Society, founding member of the Nor'west Co-op Health and Social Service Centre, and current president of J.S. Chapter IODE. She received the YM-YWCA Woman of Distinction Award in 2012.


Marilyn Kapitany, BSc. Honours, MSc.
Appointed July 2012

A former senior Federal Government executive responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada. Former Regional Director General of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (Manitoba) as well as Director of Industry Services at the Canadian Grain Commission.

Serves as Chair of the National Board of YMCA of Canada and is a member of the Riverview Health Centre Board. Former Chair of the YM-YWCA of Winnipeg Board, and past member of Assiniboine Park Conservancy Board and Association of Professional Executives.


Raymond Lafond, B.A., C.M.A., F.C.A.
Appointed August 2011

Worked as CFO or CEO of Catholic Health Corporation of Manitoba, The Grey Nuns of Manitoba Inc., La Caisse populaire de Saint-Boniface Limitée, Standard Aero Limited, The Canadian Co-operative Implements Ltd., St. Boniface School Division and Manitoba Water Services Board.

Received several awards including the Premier's Award for Volunteer Services.

Served on dozens of boards and committees including Universities Grants Commission, St. Boniface General Hospital, St. Amant Inc., Agence Nationale et Internationale du Manitoba (ANIM), Destination Winnipeg Inc., Momentum Healthware Inc. , La Fédération des Caisses Populaires du Manitoba and The Winnipeg Foundation.


The Hon. Anita Neville, P.C., B.A.(Hons.)
Appointed July 2012

Member of Parliament from 2000 to 2011, where she served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Heritage and Chair of the Standing Committee on the Status of Women. Also a member of several parliamentary standing and special legislative committees including those focusing on community and corporate social responsibility, Aboriginal Affairs, Defence, Justice and Human Rights. Participated as a long serving member and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Winnipeg School Division. Employed with the Government of Manitoba as an Economic Development Consultant, Director of Workforce 2000, and Director of the Winnipeg Core Area initiative Employment and Training program. Served as a Lay Bencher of the Law Society of Manitoba as well as a member of several community boards and task forces.


Susan Proven, P.H.Ec
Appointed June 2000

This member is owner/operator of a small business in rural Manitoba. She is a registered professional Home Economist. She is a former member of The Public Utilities Board, a former teacher and as a writer/broadcaster focuses on stories about rural people and communities.


Larry Soldier
Appointed July 2012

Former Chief of Swan Lake First Nation.

Serves on the Board of Directors for Youville Centre. Former Vice-Chairman of the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council and Dakota Ojibway Child and Family Services. Served on numerous committees which includes former Chairperson of the Small Business Management and Dev. Committee of Keewatin Community College and past member of Chiefs Committee on Treaties and Self-Determination. Former Chairman of the Regional Advisory Board, Alcoholism Foundation of Manitoba. Served as City Councillor for the City of Thompson. Proprietor since 2006.
