Former Director of Corporate Services for the Canadian Grain Commission, this member has worked for the Fédération des Caisses Populaires and also Entreprise Saint-Boniface, a community economic development organization. He is a past Chair of the Société d'assurances dépôts des caisses populaires du Manitoba, Caisse populaire de Saint-Boniface and Centre Youville.

Len Evans, B.A., M.A., LL.D.

Worked for several years in Statistics Canada and was Chief of the Public Utilities Section for a period of time. Later he became Prairie Regional Economist for CMHC. Subsequently he taught economics at Brandon University before being elected in 1969 as the MLA for Brandon East. He served in the legislature for 30 years including 15 as a Cabinet Minister in various portfolios. In 2001 he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree by Brandon University for his long service in public life. Presently he is the President of the Association of Former Manitoba MLAs.

Kathi Avery Kinew, M.S.W., Ph.D.

This member is a researcher, policy analyst and facilitator with thirty years of experience working with First Nations. Dr. Kinew enjoys teaching as a sessional instructor in Native Studies and Social Work at the University of Manitoba, and working with First Nations in several fields. She is the proud and happy mother of a son, Wabanakwut, attending university, and daughter, Shawon, attending high school.

This member is a lawyer carrying on a private practice of law in Thompson, Manitoba. He is a Past President of the Northern Bar Association and the Thompson Rotary Club and a former board member of the Legal Aid Services Society of Manitoba, Communities Economic Development Fund and the Manitoba Telephone System (as it then was). Mr. Mayer also served 9 years as a Councilor for the City of Thompson, including one year as Deputy Mayor.
